Brooklyn's
first gallery specializing in diversity in the arts is pleased
to present an exhibition about access and inclusion during the
Dumbo Arts Festival featuring artists Participating in LANDR 0
V E R are studio artists from the LAND Program and artists from
the tri state area.
About LAND
LAND (League Artists Natural Design) is a unique
Studio/Gallery that provides a nurturing, creative environment
to exceptional artists with disabilities. LAND
is a highly specialized art program where individuals have a five-day-a-week
studio practice that provides artists the opportunity to exchange
information with artists, curators, writers, collectors and organizations
interested in social change and the expansion of the art world.
LAND is a new program of the League Treatment
Center.
About LANDR 0 V E R /exploring diversity in Dumbo
Artists participating in LANDROVER as a means of personal independence
and empowerment through movement from one place to another. Artist
in this exhibition are participants in the LAND program as well
as individuals from outside Brooklyn. The artists focused on modes
of transportation as many of them are learning how to navigate
using the bus and subway system and are gaining self-sufficiency
in their communities with support of this alternative Day Habilitiation
setting. LAND is the first program of exceptional artists with
developmental disabilities in Brookyn.
About The League Treatment Center
The League Center serves over 500 children and adults daily, its
mission is to discover and nurture each child's and adult's strengths
and abilities by providing every opportunity for success at school,
and in community life.
