Lower East Side, NY - Gouverneur Healthcare Services is pleased to announce its celebration of the Chinese New Year with the inaugural exhibition of REDISCOVER works of art by Trang Bui. Artist Trang Bui uses a digital camera to capture and document her first trip back to Asia after leaving Vietnam 31 years ago. This journey was filled with both discovery and re-discovery of her Asian heritage. Interspersed with the photographs are artworks that reflect her evolving identity as an Asian American in New York City.

REDISCOVER is part of a series of art exhibitions in 2007 celebrating the 71st anniversary of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Art Collection. These events provide museums, galleries, educators, and the general public the opportunity to become familiar with the HHC Art Collection, as well as offer emerging artists a venue to showcase their works.

A reception that includes live entertainment and light refreshments will mark the 2007 Chinese New Year and the opening of the exhibition to be held in the Skyline Dining Room at Gouverneur Healthcare Services from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Gouverneur Healthcare Services is located at 227 Madison Street, New York City.
