Bodell/Fahey
– UMBRELLA ARTS is pleased to present an
exhibition of paintings by Montreal-based artist Eva Richardson.
The work of Eva Richardson bridges the gap between representation
and abstraction through the exploration of subtle textures
and atmospheres. Inspired by the transient nature of light,
Echo includes a series of soulful and luminous paintings
reminiscent of the subtle, vast and open skies of Newfoundland.
Eva Richardson has received grants and awards from the
Quebec Council for the Arts, The Canadian-Scandinavian
Foundation, The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation and DuMaurier
Arts and is the current recipient of the Shastri Institute
Fellowship for the Arts. A passionate traveler, she has
participated in artist residencies in remote parts of
Sweden, Scotland, Newfoundland and northern Quebec. Eva’s
paintings and photographs have been exhibited in galleries
and museums in Canada and the United States and form part
of numerous private and corporate collections.
