Nobody Wants your Film
an independent film about the struggle to make and then get the work to an audience....

Just finished an independent film called NOBODY WANTS YOUR FILM about the struggle to make and then get the work to an audience.

We've set up a website for the film to try and link up to an audience through the web so we can eventually convince a distributor to finance a theatrical release of the film.

On the site you can see quite a lot of scenes from the movie. The film and website have many well known independent film actors on/in it like Steve Buscemi, Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, David Proval, Peter Stormare, Daryl Mitchell, Karyn Parsons, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

ps: if you like what you see bring your friends to the site as well.

UPDATE: Theatrical run begins:

Things are steadily moving ahead. We're running newspaper ads, trailers and posters are up in all the theatres, and the TV ads continue to run Thursdays at 10pm-11pm during Project Greenlight in NYC and LA.

I suppose this goes without saying but I'm going to say it anyway...

I'm a nervous f-ing wreck as we prepare for this release! I hope all of you will find that a hour and a half out of your schedules to support this effort. Aside from our distributor, there are sceptics who still need to be shown that this idea can work and that all of you that have shown your support in cyberspace will appear in real space and buy a ticket to this film.

But regardless, dvd's of NOBODY WANTS YOUR FILM will be available sometime in the mid to late summer through the NWYF website at:

Thanks again for your continued support and remember there's an update page on the site so you can keep up with the film's distribution.

ps: I hope that most of you will buy your tickets in advance to ease my hysterical neurosis but of course you can purchase your tickets at the box office when you show up to the theatre as well.

UPDATE: LA Times Review & dvd on sale now:

With over 300,000 visitors to the NWYF website during the past year, and with many choosing to have their user names included into the credits of the film, we have so far seen a very large turnout for this dvd release. Newsweek magazine actually did a segment announcing the NWYF dvd release and posted our three trailers on their website at:

The dvd (and t-shirts) of NOBODY WANTS YOUR FILM are on sale now at:

LA Times Review
Frustration: It's just part of the process
By Kevin Crust, Times Staff Writer

A curio created in the editing room, "Nobody Wants Your Film" is a genuinely original work that won't be for everyone but will certainly resonate with aspiring filmmakers and those interested in creating art in a world of commerce. Consisting of footage shot on the set of an independent film and e-mails stringing together a semifictionalized story line involving the difficulties of gaining distribution, the movie's strengths lie in revealing interviews with cast and crew members as well as surreal - at times beautiful - visuals.

The director includes conversations with indie stalwarts such as Peter Dinklage and Sam Rockwell as well as more seasoned actors such as David Proval. Abstract but absorbing, the interviews vary from locker room jocularity to heartfelt expressions about craft and capture all the banality, frustration, passion and exuberance that go into making a movie. "Nobody Wants Your Film" is both the cautionary tale implied by its title and an inspiring note from the indie underground. The glory may lie in getting your film seen, but the struggle and the numerous rejections cannot negate the importance of doing the work.
