About
the author
Miranda McClintic is an independent art historian, curator and
critic, specializing in twentieth century art. A former curator
of exhibitions at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
in Washington D.C., she established her own business Connoisseurship
and Exhibition in New York City. McClintic creates exhibitions
and programs, writes catalogues and books for museums, cultural
organizations, galleries and artists. She also advises architects
and private collectors on art acquisitions. As a United States
Commissioner to the XXIV Sao Paulo Biennial in 1998, McClintic
proposed and produced Judy Pfaff's environmental installation:
Corona de espinhos. She also wrote the catalogue that
accompanied the exhibition. McClintic is currently writing a
revisionist history of twentieth century art, RECYCLING REALITY:
The History of Found Object Art.
